Flood levees to be constructed in rural Queensland towns

Construction of the flood levee in Roma has commenced.  The first stage of the levee will protect 420 homes stretching 4.9km from north of the airport to the eastern side of town alongside Bungil Creek. The local council has indicated that it would consider compensation for property owners who find themselves on the wrong side of the levee.  If your property is situated behind the levee so that it is not protected from flood waters, or the levee bank is being constructed upon your property, you may be entitled to compensation.  Please contact us to discuss your options.

We understand that levees are also being constructed in Charleville and are being considered for flood mitigation purposes in Emerald.  If your property is not protected by the levee that is proposed for construction, or the proposed levee bank is to be constructed upon your property, you may be entitled to compensation.  Please contact us to determine whether you have a claim for compensation.
